Three happy New Year goals for 2017 and three happy 2016 reflections

Three happy New Year goals for 2017 and three happy 2016 reflections

Happy New Year! So the rather dubious 2016 has finally slipped away and a fresh year has begun. Let's hope 2017 brings joy, learning and growth to all of us.

2016

Despite the ups and downs of 2016 I wanted to reflect on what I was grateful for during the year:

1. Re-launching we are stardust

Much of 2016 was spend working towards the re-launch of we are stardust, including developing a clearer brand.

2. Finding a supportive online community

I feel so privileged to have met such a wonderfully supportive online community of small business owners, makers, designers, bloggers and crafters who love learning, making, exploring and nature. I was thrilled by my first online collaboration with Laura at Circle of Pine Trees.

3.Taking part in craft fairs

This was the first year I took part in craft fairs. I wasn't sure what to expect. Although they are a lot of work it was fantastic to meet customers face-to-face and understand what they liked about my cards. Thank you Craft Fox Markets as well as the De Beauvoir and Sutton House Christmas markets too.

2017

So, now we have a whole new year ahead of us. Here's a few things I hope to learn and develop in 2017:

1. Carve out creative time

I love we are stardust but sometimes I get sucked into all the social media connections and pouring over gorgeous instagram photos. Whilst I love this, I started we are stardust so that I had an outlet for my drawing and making. In 2017, I will carve out precious time for creating every day.

2. Create at least two new designs for each collection

Sometimes I have too many ideas! I need to hone down on just a couple for each collection and get them done so that I can share them with you. I'm always looking for new ideas and facts - please email me if you have any you want to share!

3. Find three new wholesale stockists

I have some exciting developments to share with you on this goal in the coming months but finding stockists is something I'm really keen on doing in 2017. If you know of any shops or museums you think may be interested, let me know!

Most of all I hope to have fun and enjoy learning and creating. There will be ups and downs and lots of hard work but the reason I started to dedicate more time to we are stardust is to have a more fulfilled, balanced life where I can wonder at the world and enjoy my two passions in life: art and science.

Happy New Year everyone!
